VIDEO PRODUCER, FACTUAL CONTENT

Ashley Renders is a non-fiction video producer currently working on a documentary series for CBC’s Gem platform, to be released in spring 2019. Having acquired her production skills in the field, Ashley is a quick learner who can master any production task that is thrown her way.

She has extensive experience with script writing, field production, production coordinating, scheduling, hiring and directing talent, interviewing and storytelling. She has produced online content and documentary series for VICE, TVO, Toronto International Film Festival and National Post.

In 2014, she was a Global Journalism Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, and she holds a master’s degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from the Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Since 2018, she has taken courses on cinematography, lighting and sound to enhance her production skills. Ashley speaks English and French fluently.

L'Oréal Paris X TIFF

Three 2 - 3 minute videos intended to amplify the voices of women in the film industry. The videos were published on Facebook and YouTube. For each shared video, L'Oréal Paris donated $0.25 to TIFF's Share Her Journey initiative.

TIFF LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET

Toronto International Film Festival

A new live show filmed on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival. Interviews with top talent at the festival focusing on the crafts of direction, acting, production and screenwriting. Partnerships have been created with Vanity Fair, CBC and Hudson's Bay Company.

A four-minute documentary produced for National Post in Canada.The documentary includes interviews with doctors at a unique research facility where donated brains are studied to better understand suicide.

DAILY VICE

VICE Canada

The first mobile news and culture show created for VICE. I produced 1 - 3 minute segments in the field on a daily basis. I also provided field reporting from the Paris Climate Negotiations in 2015.
